Membership in the IFE connects you to the world of fire engineering. No matter where you are in your career, whether you are studying or working, we have a range of memberships to suit everyone.

Fees can be claimed by an employer to the extent that its employee is reimbursed for the expenditure incurred in professional membership fees.

• Students pursuing fire-related studies with evidence of ongoing study and qualifications can apply for free student membership, which lasts for a maximum of five years. This membership grants access to various benefits, including online learning materials and the IFE journal.
• Those who don’t meet the student criteria can apply for Affiliate Individual membership.
• Individuals with relevant qualifications from other educational institutions can apply for different membership grades, but they may require a more detailed application process.
• People without formal qualifications but with relevant fire-related experience can still apply for membership through the Technical Report Route or the Individual Assessment route.

The IFE aims to support the professionalism, skills, and experience of its members.

Method of payment

Payment for subs, exam fees, and books may be made by cash, credit card, EFT, or bank deposit (please send proof of payment with a legible name).  Foreign payments must be via SWIFT transfer from your bank to ours.
